Our camphor oil, or white camphor, is steam distilled from the wood of Cinnamomum camphora. White camphor essential oil is a middle note with an intense and woody aroma. Popular in topical salves for occasional achy muscles and in aromatherapy blends to support healthy breathing. Camphor oil can be found on the market under three different colors or fractions. Brown and yellow camphor are considered to be more toxic because they contain a higher percentage of safrol. Blend with other stimulating oils like cinnamon, eucalyptus, peppermint, or rosemary.
Supports healthy lungs
Relieves minor aches and pains
Helps keep insects away
The camphor tree can grow up to 35 meters (100 feet) and camphor is found in every part of the tree. Camphor Essential Oil is extracted by steam from the chipped wood, root stumps and branches. It is then rectified under vacuum and filter-pressed. White camphor oil is the first distillation fraction.
Directions for Use
- Add a drop of camphor oil to a teaspoon of coconut oil and rub on chest, back and soles of feet to support respiratory health.
- To keep annoying insects away, add 1-2 drops of Camphor to 2 teaspoons of carrier oil.
- To eliminate stuffy odors, add a drop of oil to a cotton ball and keep in wardrobe to keep musty smells away.
Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with a carrier oil (e.g., coconut) to minimize any skin sensitivity.
Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
Cautions
Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, face, and sensitive areas.
